One of the most important elements of the collection is the absolute prominence of the hourglass silhouette.  Zuhair Murad revives structured corsets, cinched waists, and voluminous, architectural skirts that highlight the female figure in an almost sculptural manner.  The garments seem designed to emphasise the body’s presence through theatrical proportions and extremely sophisticated lines.  Dresses with overskirts, crinolines and long trains directly evoke the aristocratic aesthetic of the Renaissance and European courts, albeit reinterpreted with a modern and glamorous sensibility. As is customary at the maison, craftsmanship is one of the most striking features of Zuhair Murad’s collection.  To achieve this, the designer has worked with over fifty specialist artisans who have created extremely intricate embroidery, using crystals, pearls, metallic threads, and sequins applied by hand to each garment. The colour palette used by Murad plays a key role in the visual atmosphere of the collection.  The designer avoids dark tones and opts for luminous, ethereal colours such as powder pink, aqua green, greyish blue, champagne and pearly ivory. These soft tones evoke the Renaissance sfumato technique, where colours seemed to blend delicately into one another. The result is a sense of diffused light that runs throughout the collection. Another key element for Zuhair Murad in his upcoming Spring/Summer 2026 collection is the use of pearls as a symbol of historical refinement.  Murad has incorporated them not only into the dresses, but also into hairstyles, gloves and accessories, evoking a time when pearls were considered more valuable than diamonds.  This detail reinforces the collection’s link to Renaissance aristocracy and the imagery of classic luxury that the collection embodies.  Furthermore, many of the dresses feature enormous embroidered bows, floral details, and jewelled appliqués that accentuate the theatricality and romanticism of the silhouettes. This is a collection in which the garments are imbued with a distinct architectural quality, thanks to materials such as mikado, duchess satin, embroidered tulle and chiffon, which have enabled the designer to create voluminous structures without sacrificing movement or delicacy.  In short, with his new collection, Zuhair Murad has created a true ode to art, luxury and hope.  Through references to the Italian Renaissance, monumental silhouettes and extraordinary craftsmanship, the designer has constructed a veritable visual universe where beauty acts as a bulwark against darkness.
