140 Years of Bulgari with ‘Aeterna’
Inspired by the timeless beauty of Rome, ‘Aeterna’ is a tribute to Bvlgari‘s 140-year vocation for perpetual reinvention.
2024 has been a very special year for Bulgari.
The reason is none other than the fact that it has commemorated its 140th anniversary as part of the world of fine jewellery and watchmaking.
To celebrate it, the firm is launching its ‘Aeterna’ collection, with which it seeks to celebrate this anniversary with creations in which creativity, craftsmanship, and audacity blend to perfection, reflecting the timeless spirit of Rome, the so-called Eternal City, an inexhaustible source of inspiration since the firm’s foundation stone was laid back in 1884 by Sotirio Bulgari.
Thus was born a collection that reflects the pioneering art of Bvlgari‘s master craftsmen, bringing decades of sublime savoir faire to the present.
From the sketch to the final result, a true masterpiece, each creation takes the form of ingenious hands that transform the most exceptional materials and precious stones into authentic works of art.
More than 140 masterpieces open the door to a universe without limits and eternal splendour.
The world’s most precious gems, from the depths of the earth and millions of years old, find their place in indescribable designs and become a source of inspiration that will undoubtedly transcend generations.
Moreover, each creation holds a fragment of eternity in the infinite cycle of time.
With more than a century to celebrate, Bulgari has created a collection full of unique and genuine pieces, including the Serpenti Aeterna necklace, the centrepiece of the collection and a clear demonstration of the maison’s innovation and expertise.
It is a piece that took more than 2,400 hours to create and which, thanks to diamonds cut into 140-carat drops, represents every year of the brand’s history.
The Serpenti Aeterna necklace features a golden platinum structure, adorned with baguette diamonds and the suppleness of a snake, culminating in an iconic clasp symbolising the rebirth of the eternal in the earthly world.
Alongside it is the Sapphire Aeterna Waves, a platinum necklace with a sophisticated combination of diamonds and sapphires.
It features a flexible and dynamic design with a detachable pendant, a feature that demonstrates the brand’s passion for versatility in every piece of jewellery.
Developed with a delicacy similar to that which it employs in each haute couture piece, the maison offers us the Sapphire Brocade, a necklace created from the perfect setting of diamonds, sapphires and buff-top emeralds.
This piece features matching earrings made from sapphires and emeralds, set with elegant diamonds.
The Aurea Chandra choker takes its inspiration from the Chandra line of the 1980s.
Its rose gold and pavé diamond dials give shape to a light and fluid construction that reminds us of the cyclical nature of creativity.
A white gold snake with sapphires and diamonds shapes the Serpenti Sapphire Echo, a necklace that holds two pear-cut sapphires of over 37.34 carats each.
These detachable pendants can also be worn as earrings, demonstrating, once again, the brand’s passion for jewellery with a broad transformative capacity.
An exquisite Serpenti, an ode to the treasures of nature, guards a green emerald from Colombia.
This is the Terra Mater Serpenti necklace, a unique piece that alludes to the ancient Roman personification of the Earth, traversing its ancient melody and bringing to life all facets of the human being.
This creation is a clear testimony to the gifts given to us by nature, which Bulgari has perfected through an extraordinary gemstone enhanced by the maison’s classic tubular design.
Alongside these outstanding pieces, many more showcase Bulgari‘s expertise, not only in haute couture, but also in the exciting world of fine jewellery.
