LITKOVSKA: The beauty of being (dis)connected

LITKOVSKA returns to Paris with a proposal that transcends fashion to become reflection. Her Spring-Summer 2026 collection, titled “(DIS)CONNECTED”, explores the fragile balance between belonging and separation, between visibility and concealment, between voice and silence.

Ukrainian designer Lilia Litkovska draws inspiration from the philosophy of art brut — creations born outside the confines of mainstream culture — to speak about authenticity. In a world overwhelmed by noise, this “disconnected” aesthetic feels paradoxically more sincere, more human.

The installation as manifesto

During Paris Fashion Week, LITKOVSKA transformed a material steeped in symbolism: the camouflage mesh used to protect Ukrainian soldiers. Reimagined in pink and turned into an installation, it ceased to be a shield and became a statement of strength and vulnerability — a poetic metamorphosis that reclaims freedom through beauty.

What was once meant to conceal becomes a declaration. A bold, almost spiritual gesture that encapsulates the tension between the visible and the invisible.

The inner struggle

In the world of LITKOVSKA, the battle is not fought only on the front line. It also unfolds within each individual — in the search for truth, in resistance to uniformity, in the effort to remain true to oneself.

“(DIS)CONNECTED” thus becomes a metaphor for contemporary existence. A reminder that our deepest connections often arise in moments of isolation.

Textures in dialogue

The collection articulates this duality through contrast. Light, fluid fabrics — lace, silk, artisanal embroidery — are set against sculptural accessories: hand-carved wooden flowers turned into jewellery or tops.

Tailoring, a signature of the house, is deconstructed and reinvented. Jackets transform, dresses unfold, seams remain visible, edges left raw. Denim meets delicate textiles in a play of weight and fragility. Nothing is fixed; each garment adapts to its wearer, fluid and versatile, with no predetermined form.

Fashion, music and the spoken word

The presentation was accompanied by a live performance by two Ukrainian cultural figures: composer Yuri Khustochka and writer, singer and cultural ambassador Irena Karpa. Music and poetry intertwined to amplify the collection’s message — resilience, desire, and the human need for connection beyond visible boundaries.

Final reflection

More than a collection, “(DIS)CONNECTED” is an open question: could the moments when we feel most detached be, in truth, those when we are closest to ourselves — and to one another?

Balancing rawness and elegance, LITKOVSKA does not merely dress the body; she undresses the conscience.
