Three days in the shoes of a luxury craftsman.
The fourth edition brought together more than 35,000 visitors in Paris and other regions.
The Comité Colbert has given a new dimension to its Les Deux Mains Du Luxe event by moving to the GrandPalaisRmn for the XXL edition.
The event was aimed at young people in the process of choosing a career path and adults undergoing professional retraining.
Each house offered participatory workshops and creative and technical demonstrations, divided into seven major thematic areas: tableware, leather and leather goods, decoration and design, gastronomy and hospitality, watchmaking and jewellery, fashion and haute couture, perfumes and cosmetics…
Its motto has not changed since the first edition: ‘
To make is to think. And manual skills have a genius all their own.
Reducing them to a sum of expert skills, forgetting the aspect of aesthetic and creative intelligence, is tantamount to ignoring these trades, which have been given all the visibility they deserve.
Because the urgency is there and employers are faced with the challenge of replacing retiring artisans and passing on technical knowledge.
Never before have so many luxury houses come together in a single exhibition to champion the craft trades:
