Louis Vuitton’s enthusiasm for innovation
220 jewels divided into thirteen themes. ‘Awakened Hands, Awakened Minds’ becomes Louis Vuitton‘s sixth fine jewellery collection.
A true delight for the most demanding senses.
‘Awakened Hands, Awakened Minds’ is much more than a Louis Vuitton jewellery collection.
Much more than the union of 220 pieces of jewellery divided into thirteen themes.
‘Awakened Hands, Awakened Minds’ is an astonishing display of technical skill and design in fine jewellery.
It is a symbol of nostalgia, architecture, grandeur, and innovation.
Each of the jewels that make up this stunning collection is designed with clean lines that offer a crystalline vision of the path to be followed by Louis Vuitton fine jewellery.
Pieces that show a complexity that has become an integral part of their design; made from an exalted, unconcealed mechanics.
Creations, some of such complexity, that they have taken thousands of hours to complete.
Francesca Amfitheatrof, artistic director for the famous Parisian luxury house and author of the maison’s sixth jewellery collection, seeks with ‘Awakened Hands, Awakened Minds’ to promote the revival of craftsmanship and the return of the most daring inventiveness.
An ode, indeed, to French savoir faire in which the craftsmanship of luxury blends seamlessly with the innovative spirit of the 21st century through exceptional pieces in which elegance and sophistication are written in capital letters, resulting in stunning combinations that exemplify the unique expertise and fearless vision of Louis Vuitton.
Amfitheatrof seeks to capture the rebirth of Parisian excellence in the jewels of a collection made up of unique pieces.
Among them, the Apotheosis: Coeur de Paris necklace, which emulates the Eiffel Tower as if we were looking at it from the bottom up; as if we were looking, in Amfitheatrof‘s own words, at the very heart of Paris.
It is an interpretation of the iron tower featuring a 56.23-carat dark pink square-cut diamond in a grid of gold rods and struts.
Alongside it, another stunning piece, the Séduction necklace, which combines the rugged work of industry with the decorative arts.
A sumptuous and delicate work of brocade trimmings, jacquard, and tassels create a geometrically perfect choker of diamond-sequined netting linked at the top and bottom with a thick golden cord that emulates the strong ropes used to transport Vuitton boots on steamships.
Another piece from the collection that deserves to be highlighted for the time taken to make it – 2504 hours and five jewellers were needed to complete the piece – is the Vision necklace, which makes direct reference to the arrival of the railway.
The necklace is bib-style and is configured from a striking geometric arrangement of diamonds and yellow sapphires.
The Vuitton ‘V’ it contains and its metal rivets are reminiscent of the steam trains of yesteryear.
Refined creations through which Amfitheatrof has harnessed the fervour of Paris’ golden age, when the city was a powerhouse of innovation, creativity and craftsmanship, transforming the spirit of the times into the most modern jewellery.
A true delight for the senses.
