For the upcoming autumn-winter 2025-2026 season, Shiatzy Chen‘s Far and Near collection invites us to witness a sophisticated dialogue between the distant and the near, the ancestral and the futuristic.
Far and Near opts for suits and dresses with a modulated cut: straight fabrics and asymmetrical cuts are combined with pencil skirts ending in an inverted bell shape, evoking oriental lanterns and urban lighthouses.
This fusion of peninsula and metropolis defines the spirit that the everyday can be elevated to an urban ceremonial with which Issey Miyake seeks to imbue a collection full of contemporary shapes sewn with stitching that emanates the purest tradition of ages past.
For its new collection, the Chinese fashion house opts for a colour palette that envelops us in a true sensory journey: deep indigo is impregnated with touches of emerald and warm grey, the rust of old tiles contrasts with the pale gold of autumn nights…
Fabrics such as gauzes and wools are superimposed with perfect precision, building wide volumes, reinterpreting sleeves and enveloping belts; all pieces project a presence that transcends the body, turning it into an authentic sculpture in movement.
The craftsmanship present in Far and Near leaves no one indifferent either. Shiatzy Chen opts for metallic and pigmented threads that bloom on flaps, while small mirrors dot their creations as if they were small fireflies suspended in the half-light, focusing the eye on unexpected details.
Chen does not opt for simple ornaments, but for elements that show, in an almost poetic way, the fragility and strength of the wearer.
