Duality and spectacle in its purest form. This is how ‘Angry Birds’, Viktor & Rolf‘s most provocative collection, is presented.
Viktor & Rolf transform ‘Angry Birds’ into a surreal collection in which shapes fly, volumes float, and textures shine under an extravagant theatrical halo.
Designers Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren explore a narrative in which traditional silhouettes are broken down to make way for unprecedented and spectacular shapes.
An ode to duality and spectacle, adorned with nearly 11,500 handmade feathers, all artificial, carved from gauze and other ethereal fabrics, recreating pieces that appear only in haute couture dreams.
‘Angry Birds’ finds its true common thread in undefined silhouettes. Bodies are diluted under layers of gauze, satin, and silk, wrapped in circular geometries reminiscent of suspended balloons.
The dresses, some with an evident weight in their drape, reveal a deliberate theatricality, while others opt for the lightness of vaporous layers and gathered collars, which give the wearer an almost clerical, elevated, sacred air.
Everything seems to be in motion: folds that inflate and deflate, structures that rise and fall at the same time, headdresses that seem to levitate.
Viktor & Rolf opt for volumes that defy gravity, for fabrics that take on a life of their own, highlighting the theatricality of each piece.
Black predominates as the narrative base, but its sobriety is interrupted by bursts of intense pink, blood red, bottle green, and dusty lilac, which add energy without breaking the visual harmony.
Shiny textures and tiny sparkles complete this fantasy universe.
Viktor & Rolf add sequins hidden beneath sheer fabrics, delicate embroidery, and finishes that react to light like moving stars, turning each look into a scene in itself.
With ‘Angry Birds’, Viktor & Rolf reaffirm their role in the world of haute couture with a collection that is not simply fashion, but rather a true experience in which extravagance and simplicity clash and complement each other.
Viktor & Rolf confirm themselves as true weavers of dreams, capable of transforming the intangible into something unforgettable.
