Neomania #47. Time capsules versus Tempus Fugit

In these times we live in, falling into fatalism is no stranger to us. Existential vertigo comes to us like a spring, every time we plant our feet on the ground. The moment, the transience and the transitory are imposed in the current era, more than ever… like youth (divine treasure).

Regardless of the generation to which we belong, we are intoxicated by a chilling bath of raw realism. Which denotes the certainty of a growing need for reflection but, at the same time, a thirst for evasion.

Escaping from the madding crowd, we want to remember the rhetorical clichés about the incalculable potential of the human mind and the ethereal value of the finitude of things.

If we could capture time capsules, we would freeze our thoughts, feelings, meditations and prayers.
We would create an extraordinary kaleidoscope with thousands of colours, sounds, smells and textures.

Something similar is what we offer you with our articles on the most diverse and current topics. And always with a common denominator: creativity.

In the Middle Ages, Hieronymus Bosch created an imaginary world full of strange elements, non-existent animals, fantastical geometric architectures, fruits and birds, which have fascinated us throughout time.

We have done research on current artists, who have recreated the scene, inventing their new Gardens of Delights for the 21st Century.

Continuing with the history of ISMOS, we focus on the Art Deco style, the height of elegance and glamour. It manifested itself in the spectrum of all visual arts: architecture, painting, sculpture, graphic and decorative arts.

We visited a unique exhibition of two impressionist geniuses, on both sides of the Atlantic: “Manet – Degas”. They had an intense and stormy relationship, worthy of a novel. It comes from the Musée d’Orsay in Paris to travel to the Metropolitan Museum in New York (2023-2024).

The Evite Obvious Architects studio, based in Hong Kong, has carried out a green urban project with 36 buildings, called WeTown for Vancouver (Canada). They won the prestigious MasterPrize of Architecture in the Landscaping and Urban Planning section.

In the fashion section, we attend worldwide catwalks to soak up with the latest trends by Celia Kritharioti, Gaurav Gupta, Julien Fournie, Rahul Mishra, Stephane Rolland and Zuhair Murad.

All these creators invite us to travel from the “tempus fugit” to the future. We are communicators who, through the artistic, mutable and fleeting, inspire towards new perspectives of light and optimism with confidence in tomorrow.
